Today we celebrate Labor Day…but now it seems it is a day for shopping specials. Is it truly a day to honor the labor force of this country and what they have done that once helped to make this a great country? Unfortunately, too many have to work in low wage jobs or are under-employed and marginalized…while those running these corporations only grow richer. Too many workers are being exploited and what is sad, is the amount of people living here who do not grasp what is going on.
I stay away from politics because my energies are spent raising awareness on trauma, abuse and mental health concerns, but our work force is being traumatized and abused. So today I will step up and make a comment or two and ask what has gone wrong with our country, morally and ethically, that we can allow this to continue. I need to ask, why do people want to raise up the banner of haters and fear mongers like a Donald Trump. Please study history folks, what did Hitler do? He too used fear and hate in blaming the Jews, Gypsies, the mentally ill and others to drive his agenda…what the hell is Mr. Trump doing? – he’s doing the same damn thing.
I am deeply appalled and in disbelief at the amount of people extolling the virtues of someone who is morally corrupt and takes advantage of people & workers all the time. Donald Trump is a TV celebrity of narcissistic fame and fortune – do you really think he has our best interest at heart?
Please wake up America…it does not matter to me your political beliefs, whether you are an Independent, a Republican, a Democrat, a Socialist, whatever…but hate and fear mongering is not part of progress, it is a road to ruin. PLEASE…let’s take the high road.
